Are they getting worn out or does your spouse forget to give your drug store membership card back to you after he uses it? Coin may be the perfect solution for you!

Coin is a Bluetooth low-energy connect card device that can store swipeable cards, such as credit cards, store reward cards, gift cards and membership cards, directly on the device.  Coin has a battery life of two years and can be used anywhere that regular credit cards are accepted.  Simply select the card you want to use when checking out, with the push of a button on your Coin device, that’s it.

Users load their swipeable cards on to the device’s mobile app by using the card-swipe dongle that connects to their smartphone or tablet.  Once the cards are loaded, the user does not need the mobile app or their smartphone for the Coin device to work.  The mobile app however, can be kept and used to manage, add or delete existing cards.

Consumers can choose the card they want to use for a particular transaction by tapping a button on the Coin’s digital screen.
The device is safe and will securely store your financial cards according to Coin developers.

Don’t worry about losing your Coin device.  One of the security features includes an alert via your mobile app to your smartphone if you leave your Coin behind. The Coin device is also set to disable itself  should lose it.

Coin, expected to ship its first batch in summer 2014, is available for Pre-order now.  The cost of the device is $50 plus $5 shipping and handling.  After the pre-order period, Coin will retail for $100.
